Some people are under the impression that buttercreams are hard to make, so they make a trip to the grocery store and buy a cheap tub of it. Well, I’m here to tell you that American buttercream is incredibly simple to make! It only requires a few ingredients, mainly powdered sugar and butter, so it doesn’t break the bank like other buttercreams could like Italian and Swiss. So, grab your stand mixer and get ready to make some delicious vanilla buttercream!

TIPS AND TRICKS:
- For a whiter buttercream use 2 sticks of butter and 1/2 c. vegetable shortening.
- If you want a fluffier buttercream whip the completed buttercream on high speed for 1 minute.
- Be sure to use room temperature butter to avoid lumps in your buttercream.
